Search results improved + Queue status.
I have not really spent much time yet on the search results, improving them has been on the ‘to-do’ list for quite a long time now, as they were returning many duplicate results.
I am experimenting (and learning) with the search feature at the moment, I have imlemented the first test, which seems a big improvement over the previous code, its no longer listing pages full of duplicate results now.
I will be tweaking the code as time permits, to further improve it.
The submission queue is now just under 5800 blogs, I have managed to remove many more dead blogs from the directory, and cleaned up a load of blogs that were never updated for a long time.

I noticed the duplicate results on my last visit. Glad to hear that you fixed that! Just under 5800 blogs in the queue?? You’re gonna be one busy guy!
Does the link to report broken links send you a direct notification? I’ve found a few blogs that didn’t work and used that link but I wasn’t sure how it worked (I didn’t see any sort of confirmation).
Anyhow, I appreciate all you’ve done with LS. Keep up the good work!

The queue is certainly keeping me busy
The report a bad link does not (at present) give me a direct notification, but it stores it for later review, so I can pop in when I get a spare moment and check which ones have been flagged.
Sadly I never got around to coding the automation of that, will have to put that on my to-do list
Made the ‘report a bad link’ code report back a thank you for reporting and a notice that it will be investigated in due course. It should have been doing that all along, but a little gremlin had crept in during a previous upgrade

You’re very welcome! I can only imagine how difficult it must be to keep track of so many listings! I like browsing through the different categories to find new sites so if I find any dead links I will definitely report them. You’ve got a fantastic resource which I think everyone should appreciate.
